Study Circles
Study Circles bring members of a community together to learn from one another and to work collectively to solve problems. A Study Circle is a process for small-group deliberation on a critical community issue, led by a trained facilitator. Eight to twelve people meet regularly over a period of six weeks for collaborative, democratic discussion. Not to be forgotten, however, is how much fun it is to participate in a Study Circle! The discussions are always engaging and enlightening. By the end of the sessions, many new friendships have been formed, often with people outside of one's usual circle - expanding one's horizons and leading to new opportunities. What a wonderful deal - solving community problems AND having a great time.
Community Forums
CAD offers facilitated community forums to foster community discussion and to allow controversial issues to be addressed openly and productively. This allows a safe and productive means for discussing contentious issues which, when not addressed, can disrupt and polarize a community.
Speakers Bureau
CAD has developed a list of knowledgeable volunteer speakers who are available for engagements at schools, churches, and other community venues. Speakers are able to address many diversity related topics.
